And, like others have said, these things DO happen - like when I let Jamie fall off the bed the FIRST DAY he was home from the hospital. The kid hadn't even been home two hours! Or the time Jamie unbuckled himself out of a Walmart shopping cart and fell out - on his head, on a hard concrete floor, and how his little body just *flopped* when he tried to get up. I still have nightmares over these things, and he's 13 now! So please, do stop beating yourself up. Take it as a lesson learned for both of you - and move on. And know that I'm sending you such biiiiig hugs and support!Jenn-Jenn, the Mother Henhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01850119465505660438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437730534870026306.post-8493823184766120482011-02-02T21:32:02.034-05:002011-02-02T21:32:02.034-05:00Thanks everyone for being so understanding. Thank you for your honesty in sharing this with us - I might've been too afraid of judgment to even tell people about it. (Like the time I let my 9-month-old son roll off the bathroom counter onto the tile floor... Nope, you never heard about it because I did NOT blog it!) This kind of thing is every mother's nightmare, but everybody's right in that it DOES just happen, and it DOES happen even to very, very good mothers. Maren knows how very much you love her, and that matters more than any accident ever could.Jonihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00802543096647270631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-437730534870026306.post-14415518140360647762011-02-02T18:57:50.964-05:002011-02-02T18:57:50.964-05:00Oh Jessi. I would feel the exact same way if this happened to me and my child...but it will be okay.
